What would Cologne look like if it were only inhabited by animals and plants? Students dealt with this question in my project workshop on virtual reality. They created a virtual post-apocalyptic world based on photographs of the campus environment in Cologne-Zollstock. In addition to stills and animations of the scenery, views within the "Galerie Hundert" (HMKW Cologne exhibition room at Höninger Weg 100) were implemented virtually in such a way that one could find oneself on site in the post-apocalyptic environment using VR glasses - tested many times by enthusiastic visitors to the semester exhibition in spring 2019.
The project has been nominated for the DIVR Award.
